Multi-scale Modeling of Skeletal Muscle

The research aim is to develop quantitative mathematical models and simulation algorithms that have predictive capabilities, based on studying skeletal muscle as a multi-scale structural system that functions by a combination of coupled mechanical, electrical, and biochemical interaction.

Our quantitative approach would provide a new paradigm in muscle research, a holistic approach to exemplify how to proceed from basics to quantitative results. The model would provide the necessary and most likely novel tools and rules that can be used in therapeutic muscle treatments, sports and other injury prevention.
