Micromechanical Modeling

At UCSD's Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials, researchers routinely study the theoretical and experimental data relevant to material properties. They use these data in the development of physically-based micromechanical models of material response and failure modes for computational simulations. In the following examples, response models are shown for pure Ta (Picture 1), and for Ta-10%W (Picture 2).
